Character / Color:

The orange-brown to reddish brown coloring of the rare and precious half-round figure of the elm gives the wood an elegant look. Nests of different shapes and sizes enliven the overall harmonious appearance. The annual growth rings in their circular or wavy course produce a gently flowing grain. Visual interest is added by the combination of green and brown zones. Elm disease has brought this species close to extinction.
