NUO wins materialPREIS 2020
It was exciting, it was cheerful, it was familiar - and quite different from previous years: This year, the material award was presented in the run-up to Christmas, in eight small, successive award ceremonies over two days. The presentation of the trophies in eight categories took place in a small circle and a golden flurry of confetti; instead of a packed hall, what counted most this year was the personal encounter.
In the categories of design, innovation, classic, collection, ecology, process and study, the jury awarded three prizes each, and raumprobe also received recognition. Materials, concepts and developments could be submitted online until September 30, 2020. The independent jury of experts made their decisions based on real samples and submitted documents. NUO took first place in the process category. Other prize winners were determined by public voting via the Material Award website. Here, the expert audience decided on the award.
A total of 33 materials and their manufacturers from industry, craft and design were honored with the materialPREIS 2020 - the award for special materials.
