TOBIAS GARTNER AND SYLVANA KÜHNLE ARE THE WINNERS AMONG 50 PARTICIPANTS OF THE COMPETITION "SCHREINER - GUT IN FORM" IN KARLSRUHE, GERMANY

For 36 years, it has been a fixture in the calendar of all design and craft enthusiasts: the "Gute Form" event - also affectionately known as "Schreiner Gut in Form". Once a year, Karlsruhe becomes a center for creative minds and skilled hands when the impressive furniture and final projects of master students and journeymen carpenters are presented. It is not only an exhibition, but also a tribute to the fine art of carpentry and the creative vision of the next generation. A meeting between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design. Also in 2023, young masters and bachelors will be able to present their creations to the public at the Regierungspräsidium at Rondellplatz in Karlsruhe.The exhibition was organized by the Regional Council Karlsruhe, the Karlsruhe Carpenters' Association , the Heinrich-Hübsch-school and sponsored by Schorn & Groh and Hirsch & Sohn GmbH.The exhibition was open to the public from 9 September to 6 October and visitors were able to vote for the winner and best project.According to the Karlsruhe Carpentry Association, this is the largest exhibition of its kind in Germany. The 2023 exhibition was held for the 36th time in its history.The award ceremony for this exhibition took place in the foyer of Schorn & Groh on Friday, 20 October, in a warm and festive atmosphere with the participation of the winners of this competition.Our company was represented at this important event by Mr Sven Görgen, who, after the award ceremony, took all the participants on a tour of the company, and showed them the work processes.

Winner master place 1 - Tobias Gartner

Summary about the Project

Tobias Gartner's project is a modern piece of furniture that functions as both a bar and a china cabinet, bridging the gap between his dining space and living room. It consists of two parts: Drawers for dishes, cutlery and other items can be found at the bottom, while the upper part features an illuminated bar compartment with a mirrored background and a bottle rondel. Walnut details and doors with a milled geometric pattern highlight the design. The piece of furniture also offers space for various glasses and bottles. It is not only functional, but also harmoniously blends into Tobias Gartner's home, giving it a modern touch.

Winner master place 2 - Benjamin Friedl

Summary to the masterpiece: A person sleeps up to a third of the day. Therefore, Benjamin (with the influence of his girlfriend) decided to build a bed as a masterpiece. The design is simple with a transparent underside, while the solid wood provides a warm and inviting atmosphere. Additionally, there are turn-up nightstands for a modern touch. Under the bed there are two drawers that can be lowered when needed, ideal for bedding. What makes the design special is that it can be assembled and disassembled without screws or metal, thanks to innovative plug-in systems. The challenges included: a metal-free bed, the screw-free assembly and disassembly, the special bedside tables and the hidden drawers.
