From the forests in Eastern Slovakia into an Audi A4 Allroad

Log purchaser Wiesmann on the long road for veneer

Our log purchaser Thomas Wiesmann spends about 240 days per year on the road in Belgium, France, Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Servia, Hungary, Poland, Ukraine, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Russia, Georgia and Iran. He's been doing that for more than 30 years. Wiesmann spends his life in planes, automobiles, hotels and forests. Of course he likes the forest best.

Just take a look at the dashboard of his Audi A4 Allroad to get an idea of his enthusiasm for nature and veneer. Beautiful quilted Oak veneer lends the vehicle radiance and class. "I saw this unique log in Eastern Slovakia in November and immediately fell under its spell. I had been searching for an extraordinary Oak veneer for my Audi for a long time. Suddenly the right log was there," said Wiesmann, who bought the tree for Schorn & Groh without a moment's delay.

After a log had transported the trunk from the forest into the veneer factory, the long journey from tree to veneer began. At the veneer factory all logs are stored temporarily on the lumber lot until they are processed. During that time they are sprinkled with water continuously so that they do not crack or change color. You can see on our website how veneer is produced step by step:
