NUO finds its way into the premium interior trims of the new Renault Megane E-Tech Electric
Renault is the first car manufacturer to feature the real wood surface from NUO as standard, which is as modern in appearance as it is sustainable with regard to the materials used.
For decades, the finest real wood veneers in the interiors of high-end automobiles have fascinated aficionados of exclusive driving culture. Adorning dashboards and door panels, these elegant finishes make for a striking appearance. Renault brings a breath of fresh air in terms of material design and environmental compatibility into the premium interior design of its new Megane E-Tech Electric.
For the choice of materials, the designers at Renault were inspired by the homely ambience of modern furniture design. NUO is a unique real wood veneer that is bonded to a textile backing and then lasered. The fine engraving achieved through the laser process gives the wood surface its extreme flexibility, making it possible to create complex three-dimensional geometries with a single, continuous surface of real wood. To top it all off, it also adds an exciting look and feel to the car’s interior. Extending across the entire instrument panel and into the door panels, the Renault Megane E-Tech's trim features a NUO wood finish and emphasizes the spacious feel of the latest Megane generation.
Unveiled for the first time at the IAA MOBILITY show in Munich in autumn 2021, the new Megane E-Tech Electric is the first of a completely new generation of electric vehicles. In this dynamic model, Renault combines all its expertise as a pioneer of affordable electric mobility that is suited to everyday use. It also offers a level of acoustic comfort comparable to that of a premium limousine. Boasting a host of innovations, the Megane E-Tech Electric exemplifies the “Nouvelle Vague”, a product initiative with which the French manufacturer will set standards in the automotive industry.
