The Oregon is an evergreen tree that belongs to the pine family. The sapwood and core are well set off. The sapwood is whitish, the heartwood pinkish-yellowish. The wood of the Oregon is straight grained, medium heavy and has a nice texture. It is slightly resinous and is one of the strongest softwoods.
