Character / Color:

The wood's special character comes from its twisted growth, which produces striped, decorative radial surfaces and voluminous figures on the tangential. The many widely scattered medium-sized pores give the veneer figure its porous look. Pith rays are very fine and appear on the strikingly lustrous radial plane as long and thin figures. Interesting reflections are created when light falls onto the yellowish white to cream-colored wood.
