The tree Leopard owes its name to its eye-catching structure. It is heavy, dense, very hard and reddish-brown in colour and often evenly interspersed with very dark spots. Good quality is difficult to obtain and very expensive, as it tends to crack during processing and drying and this spotted grain is rarely found.
