The Oregon maple yields a pale reddish burl veneer with a pleasant radiance. The uniformly colored burl cores and wavy growth rings produce a soft pattern reminiscent of a watercolor. However, frequently occurring, disruptive bark inclusions make it difficult to find wide expanses of beautiful veneer with a homogenous grain structure.
