Character / Color:
The highly glossy heartwood of mutenye has a grayish yellow to light olive green hue which turns darker as it dries to an olive brown, an almost nut tree-like shade. The many pores show up as tangential vessels, which greatly influence the appearance of the fine, light veining. Radiant areas and dark brown to black stripes give the veneer a mysterious depth.
